2020 happened and it messed with everyone's wedding plans, but that didn't mean that Brenna and Steven couldn't still celebrate their big day with family and make it special.
I might even argue that this was one of the most special weddings I have been able to capture. Everything felt real, honest and well thought out. Brenna and Steven got engaged on a mountain top, and although they didn't have their wedding there, they recreated a mountain setting with wood, made by Brenna's dad. Cake toppers and little wedding details all included the mountains.
And although this was a backyard wedding set at their parent's beautiful willow tree and pond, the wedding felt extremely special. They still got their cake, their wedding dances, reception and dancing, and even better, they got to see and talk to everyone at their wedding (of 12 people), bring their dog along for day, and still capture some amazing moments.
I since we ended up in the Fond du Lac area, and they were spending their wedding night at the newly renovated Retlaw hotel, we were able to capture some elegant, timeless photos in their 20s-inspired lounge and foyer. Seriously, this is the coolest place in the Fox Cities for a vintage vibe...while keeping it classy of course.
