Poplar Hall Wedding - Emily Kettner Photography

Lizzy and Peter's Poplar Hall wedding had the setting of the most perfect fall day. For October, you would have thought we would have had more color along the river, but it hadn't quite changed yet on the Fox River in Appleton, but higher up on the Lawrence University Campus, the color was popping!

Poplar Hall is one of my absolute favorite new wedding venues in Wisconsin. With an entire wall of windows, the modern venue brings in tons of light in so that you never have dark wedding photos, even indoors. There is an upper portion of the venue great for a cocktail hour and bar, along with the lower portion able to fit tons of tables along with a dance floor, stage for your DJ or live band. The backdrop of the entire venue is the Fox River in Appleton, and wow, what a view.

Poplar hall is also great because you can bring in your own caterer, you have a beautiful ceremony backdrop, great outdoor space for a cocktail hour or just hanging out, and hotels nearby too.

Peter works at Lawrence University, so did a first look on campus there before the ceremony (to get those wedding jitters out too) and took the rest of our wedding party photos and couples photos right along the river.

I would be remiss if I didn't mention we had unseasonably beautiful weather that late in October. We had the most beautiful sun and light, which made for gorgeous photos and light blinking and peeking in through the trees. It was a beautiful wedding!
